Peter Hannon is an internationally trained Orthopaedic surgeon having completed the Australian Orthopaedic training program in 1991 and then obtaining postgraduate appointments in 1992-1993 as:
1. Clinical Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellow, Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Portland, Oregon, USA.
2. Senior Commonwealth Registrar, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, UK.
3. Senior Orthopaedic Registrar, Royal London Hospital, UK.
4. A.O. International Orthopaedic Fellow, Zentralklinikum for Trauma and Restoration Surgery, Ausberg, Germany.
Peter has held appointments at Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong Hospital and Sandringham Hospital. He has been Director of Orthopaedic Surgery at Sandringham Hospital, Alfred Health from 2010. He was the Chariman of the Medical Advisory Committee at Linacre Private Hospital from 2007-2020.
Peter's clinical focus is in surgery of the hip and knee, with a particular interest in joint replacement surgery, including primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty surgery and unicompartment knee arthroplasty. He utilises patient specific instrumentation, computer navigation and robotic assisted technology to optimise patient outcomes.
He performs over 250 joint arthoplasties each year and is involved in undergraduate and post graduate education.
